Student Films
Movies are arguably the most popular form of entertainment. They allow us to take a momentary break from our every day lives and see the world through a different pair of eyes. They can take us to places we've never been and places that don't even exist. The possibilities are endless when it comes to writing a film. The only boundaries that exist are those imposed by your own imagination.
With that in mind, our class didn't really set out to make films, rather we set out to write plays. However, what started out as a big project turned out to be a humungous project. My original goal was to break the class into four groups and have each group write a play that they would later act out. Well, we broke into four groups and got the 4 plays written, but the interest in this project was so phenomenal that we decided to make a project that they could always cherish... a movie. So, each group re-tooled their original scripts into screenplays and we ended up filming 4 short films. The films were shot after school and during lunch over a period of 2 months. Each film was then put on a professional DVD along with bonus material.
